Anyone with a garbage disposal: If your disposal stops working, odds are that its not broken! Disposals are made for grinding food waste into a mixture that is able to be removed by your drain system. In doing this, sometimes hard pieces get stuck in the disposal and lock it up and trip the internal overload to itself. Most times this can be fixed by inserting an Allen wrench into the very bottom center of the disposal and turning it either way until it spins freely. After it turns freely, remove the wrench and press the square red button and briefly turn the disposal on then back off. This cures a high percentage of them that we get called for.
